President Kim Il Sung was elected prime minister and head of state in the first fifth day Session of the Supreme People’s Assembly of the DPRK in accordance with the unanimous will and desire of the entire Korean people. Then he organized the government in the next day’s Session. 

Getting up from his seat and looking round the hall, the President addressed in turn the Cabinet members by name in his resonant voice.

The Cabinet was organized by seventeen ministers and a minister without portfolio including three deputy prime ministers and chairman of State Planning Commission under Article 58 of the Constitution of the DPRK. 

Consecutively, their biographies were introduced in the Session on the recommendation of the President and they were decided by show of hands. 

Deliberation on the Cabinet members elected was unanimously passed. At that time a thunderous applause arose at the hall. 

As the President formed the government of the Republic, the DPRK, the Korean people longed for impatiently, declared its foundation to the world. It was September 9, Juche 37 (1948).
