On June 19, Juche 53 (1964), Chairman Kim Jong Il began his work at the Party Central Committee.
He sat up to work all night till next morning and went out to the garden with some officials.
Looking up at the Party flag wavering on the building of the Party Central Committee in the fresh air, the Chairman said to them that President Kim Il Sung let him work at the Party Central Committee recollecting the young communists Kim Hyok and Cha Kwang Su in the early years of his revolutionary activities. He also said that he had firmly resolved to hold the President in high reverence and shoulder the future destiny of our Party as per his intention and it was his lifelong duty to develop our Party eternally into the Party of Comrade Kim Il Sung.
His oath is shining bright as a historic event which opened the fundamental turning point in the strengthening and development of the Workers’ Party of Korea.
