Campaign of Raising War Orphans

There was also a campaign of raising war orphans in the wartime, somewhat different from other patriotic movements waged by the Korean people. 

A large number of women brought the parentless children to their homes, upholding the instruction of President Kim Il Sung on waging the entire social movement of taking charge of war orphans.

Inspecting the DPRK in the same period, a member of the international investigation group did not see any orphan wandering about the streets. So she felt only surprised, because she couldn’t know the reason.  

Patriotic minds of the women who defended and took care of the future of this country with love and hearts even in the atrocious war were really pure and warm never to be compared to anything in the world.

“Western advertisement on the DPRK is all contradictory and false. In this visit I corrected my view on this country. The DPRK I saw was a country which has not any instable factors like terrorist actions or acts of outrages upon women”
