As the key cultural and artistic organ of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation, it is well known for having inherited and developed the fine traditions of military musical art.

The ensemble has attended major events and concerts held at home and abroad.

It has visited the DPRK on several occasions and given performances. 

In particular, it participated in the 16th and 17th rounds of the April Spring Friendship Art Festival.
