Book “The Spirit of India”

It is a gift presented to President Kim Il Sung by Indira Gandhi, the former Indian prime minister in October Juche 69 (1980).

In May 1980, she was met by the President for the first time and received teachings from him. And within a few months since her return, she presented her three autograph letters to the President and received more teachings from him.

Four-volume book “The Spirit of India” edited what Indira Gandhi and other previous Indian leaders wrote and their memoirs. Those are regarded as a national treasure as the ideas of the Gandhi National Congress Party of India and the Republic of India are comprehended. She also presented other gifts such as a chess, wooden sculptures and fruit trays.
