The Korean people, who had long lived without perceiving who they were and what position and rights they should have under the feudal fetters and Japanese colonial rule, became the owners of land and factories and masters of the country with August 15 liberation. Those who had no access to schooling whatsoever learnt in schools with school things supplied from the state and women turned out in the work of nation building with equal rights to men.

The new life and dreamlike happiness in the liberated country were brought by President Kim Il Sung, the peerlessly patriot and savior of the nation. 

Therefore, on August 15, 79 years ago, all the Korean people shouted “Long Live the General Kim Il Sung!” and “Long Live the National Liberation!” at the top of their voices. Their cheers for liberation set the entire country atremble.
